  • Clinic Open for Spring, Martin Luther King Day Holiday and Hours for Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Availability

    Today marks the opening of the Student Health and Wellness Center clinic for the Spring Semester. January 11 through 13, 2012 we will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Starting January 17, the clinic will resume its normal long semester hours of Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Please note that the Student Health and Wellness Center will be closed on January 16 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

  • Exercise and Sleep, Sleep and Weight Gain

    A new study in the December issue of the journal Mental Health and Physical Activity looked at how physical activity impacted the overall quality of sleep. It included a nationally representative sample of more than 2,600 men and women, ages 18-85, found that 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity a week, which is the national guideline, provided a 65 percent improvement in sleep quality.

  • SHWC 2011 Flu Vaccine Clinic is Finished

    The Student Health and Wellness Center has given out of all of our flu vaccine and will not be getting any more. If you would still like to receive the flu vaccine, you can check with local pharmacies or your county health department to see if they still have vaccine available.

  • New 24-hour Nurse Call Line Available to Enrolled Students

    Starting the first week of classes, students can call 877-440-0549 to talk to a registered nurse who is trained to triage patients by phone, suggest options for treating symptoms, and provide guidance on whether issue is urgent enough to require a trip to the hospital or could wait for the next available Student Health and Wellness Center appointment. During clinic hours, students can call 940-565-2333 to schedule appointments.
